Legal analyst Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze has called for a review of Namibia's Electoral Act following the Supreme Court's Friday ruling that both the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) and President Nangolo Mbumba acted lawfully in extending the election period.
The Supreme Court of Namibia is set to hear a high-stakes case next Monday, as Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) leader Dr. Panduleni Itula challenges the results of the 2024 Presidential Election.
Swapo Party Secretary General Sofia Shaningwa has issued a formal response to two court cases filed by the Independent Patriots for Change seeking to nullify the results of Namibia's Presidential and National Assembly Elections held in late November 2024.
The Swapo Party will elect its president to replace the late Dr. Hage Geingob at the Extraordinary Congress set to take place on April 19, 2025.
This means that Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah remains the party's sole candidate for the November National Presidential Election.
