The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration says agriculture is key in bringing about economic transformation, food security, and nutrition.

Namibia could generate up to N$76 billion over the next 25 years if the 15.8 million hectares of land of bush encroachment is carried out sustainably. This is contained in the National Strategy on the Sustainable Management of Bush Resources, launched at the 2022 Biomass Fair in Windhoek.

Residents at Farm Vrede and surrounding areas, in the Daures Constituency now have clean drinking water, following the handing over of three mini desalination plants. The pilot project, which cost taxpayers about N$1 million will also enable livestock farmers to venture into crop production.
