Residents of Omaruru in the Erongo Region have petitioned the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, after accusing the councillors of having snubbed their demonstration in which they questioned the town's stagnant development, increasing debts, and lack of job opportunities.

Oshikuku Town Council revamps sewer ponds

The Oshikuku Town Council was allocated N$5.7 million by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD) to expand their sewerage pond, fence it off, and put up an embankment to prevent the overflow of sewerage in the current financial year.

The tender for the project was awarded to Kambwa Trading.

One such meeting took place in the ||Kharas Region.

Windhoek residents urged to attend community meetings

City of Windhoek Mayor Queen Kamati has urged residents of Windhoek to attend meetings to discuss matters of interest. 

The meetings are scheduled to run for the whole month of July.

She raised this during the monthly meeting of the City of Windhoek council.

Naute Irrigation Farm operations halted as workers strike

Operations at the Naute Irrigation Farm outside Keetmanshoop came to a standstill after workers downed tools over a wage increase dispute. 

The workers demand a 12% wage increase for Grade A category workers, 10% for Grade B category workers, and 8% for Grade C category workers. 

Swapo Party members in Sibbinda District urged to unite

The Swapo Party's Chairperson of Leaders Assigned to the Zambezi Region, Erastus Uutoni, addressed party members and supporters at Bitto in the Sibbinda District. 

He reminded them that the liberation struggle was won because of unity of purpose, and the enemy was defeated.
