Police in Aranos have encouraged all liquor outlets to renew their liquor licenses, which expire at the end of this month.

Aranos residents have expressed concerns about underdevelopment, unemployment, and inadequate services.

Community member Magrietta Rooi expressed concerns about the challenges faced by residents, particularly regarding water and electricity supply, as well as youth unemployment among school leavers.

Many residents in Aranos hope that the new political leadership will help address some of the challenges they continue to face, particularly access to land, proper housing, and reliable food support. 

While the challenges vary, many are optimistic about improved living conditions. 

 A thunderstorm struck Aranos in the Hardap Region on Tuesday, causing the roofs of several residents' homes to blow off. 

Wind-borne pieces of the roof sheets struck two children, causing them to sustain minor injuries. 

35 community members of Aranos in the Hardap Region will soon become proud homeowners, as the town addresses the issue of providing affordable housing to residents.

The residents are beneficiaries of the Aranos Town Council's Build Together Programme, which had been dormant for the past six years. 

The Namibian government remains committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities.

A 17-year-old schoolboy, Antonio Araeb, and his mother established a poultry business in 2021 by buying 30 one-day-old chicks at a subsidized price from the Ministry of Agriculture.

The provision of potable water and electricity remains a challenge in Maltahohe and Aranos.

Residents in those areas live in corrugated shelters and share one public- tap.

The Hardap Education Directorate is celebrating the Namibian Heritage week in Aranos under the theme "Unity in Diversity".
