Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) President McHenry Venaani launched his party's manifesto in Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Region, on Sunday.

A N$10 million project to establish the Kongola to Masambo powerline and the electrification of the Masambo Primary School in the Zambezi Region has been commissioned.

The projects were initially budgeted at a cost of N$3,62 million, but it has been increased due to the distance from the power line.

Regional Councillors in the Zambezi Region have appealed to the Ministry of Mines and Energy to assist in reviving abandoned rural electrification projects initiated by conservancies.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has allocated more than N$17 million to electricity projects in the Zambezi Region for this financial year.

This was revealed by the Minister, Tom Alweendo, during a meeting with the Zambezi Regional Council leadership at Katima Mulilo.

The Governor of the Zambezi Region, Lawrence Sampofu, said a lot has been done in terms of development despite many setbacks in the region.

Sampofu said this during his State of the Region Address on Monday. 

With regional governors delivering their State of the Region addresses from all fourteen regions, Zambezi's governor Lawrence Alufea Shampofu is the latest to deliver his address, which he presented this morning.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources visited green scheme projects in the Zambezi, Kavango East, and Kavango West regions. 

The visit aimed to assess the operational viability of the projects amid reports of non-productivity and dormancy. 

Two families at Mubiza Village in the Zambezi Region were left destitute after their houses were gutted by fire this week.

The incident was attributed to a toddler who was playing with thatched grass and is alleged to have started the fire. 

A Namibian woman raising funds for charity has so far covered about 1,700 kilometres by foot. 

Ray Sasman, who walked from the ||Kharas Region, is now in the Kavango East, headed towards the Zambezi Region.

The year 2025 will be the one that many will be looking forward to as the government plans to implement a grant for unemployed people between the ages of 18 and 59.
