The Executive Director at the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) says some Namibians believe that corruption is not much of a concern in the country. 

Graham Hopwood is now advising locals to assist in preventing corruption from becoming worse. 

Residents of Shamaturu and nearby villages in the Kavango East Region came together on Thursday to celebrate the official opening of a much-awaited clinic, bringing vital healthcare services closer to the community.

In the Kavango East Region, Returning Officer Sonia Neumbo confirmed to nbc News that voters' education had an impact on the elections as there were no challenges faced during the special elections. 

The Women's Action for Development (WAD) conducted a five-day' workshop on gender-based violence (GBV) for male police officers.

The workshop, which was held at Rundu, was attended by members of the force from all the country's 14 regions.

Despite the timber harvesting ban being lifted last year, many timber harvesters and carpenters in the Kavango East Region remain unaware of the change.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism initially imposed the ban in 2018 to curb the unsustainable harvesting of trees.

The Inland populaces of Ndiyona Constituency in the Kavango East Region have taken ownership of their own development and de-bushed about 28-kilometre roads for easy access to their villages. 

The Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security Ministry has served 8,228 people in the Kavango East Region in the recently concluded, six-month mass outreach campaign.

The outreach programme served to bring services closer to citizens in remote areas.

The Kavango East and West Regions Health Directorate and Angola's Cuando Cubango Province held a three-day cross-border meeting at Rundu. 

The meeting was aimed at strengthening the corporation and sharing ideas on how to prevent cross-border diseases. 

A destitute family at the Ndama location in the Kavango East Region is moving on from sleeping in makeshift structures, thanks to assistance received.

The family has found it difficult to meet basic needs.  

Cross-border malaria transmission remains a problem in mitigating the disease, and interventions are needed in endemic regions such as the Kavango East Region.

The region commemorated belated World Malaria Day at Shadikongoro in the Mukwe Constituency.
