Loide Kasingo, the leader of a delegation of lawmakers in Namibia to the Pan-African Parliament has refused to shed light on a heated incident involving one of its members in a recent session, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The leader and chief change campaigner of the Landless People's Movement Bernadus Swartbooi was asked to leave a plenary session by security personnel for allegedly using foul language, a few days ago.

Diesel prices to increase this Wednesday

As the international oil market continues to have a huge fall in oil demand, diesel prices are expected to increase on Wednesday by 198 cents per litre.

It is, however, a relief for petrol users as prices remain unchanged.

The new prices in Walvis Bay will be N$24.10 per litre for diesel and, as for the rest of the country, they will be adjusted accordingly.

The depreciation of the Namibian dollar against the US dollar as of now will cause negative effects on the pockets of fuel consumers.

EU, Ministry of Industrialisation to host Economic Partnership Agreement trade forum

The European Union and the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade will host the Economic Partnership Agreement trade forum next week.

The purpose of the forum is to sensitize Namibian organisations and companies on the export and import opportunities under the Namibia-EU agreement.

The EPA is an agreement signed between the European Union and several SADC countries in 2016, with the implementation having commenced in 2018.

Namibia, EU sign MoU

Namibia and the European Union (EU) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a partnership on sustainable raw material value chains and renewable hydrogen.

This is in line with Namibia's development plans such as NDPs and the Harambee Prosperity Plan.

The EU Ambassador, Sinikka Antila, discussed this and other matters with President Hage Geingob at the State House.

Namibia and the EU both agree that securing a sustainable supply of raw materials, especially critical raw materials, is a prerequisite for delivering on green and clean energy objectives.
