The Keetmanshoop Town Council has officially unveiled two street names named after those who made an impact in the community. 

In a tribute to the late businessman and football administrator Ludwig Helu, affectionately known as 'Baby' among the locals, the council honoured him with a street name. 

The Keetmanshoop Town Council has approved the renaming of nine streets in the Central Business District, Kronlein, as well as Tseiblaagte residential areas. 

In a bid to revolutionise connectivity services, Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) and the Keetmanshoop Town Council have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding.

More than 4,000 people are currently on the Keetmanshoop Town Council housing waiting list.

The town's acting CEO, Cathy Boois, revealed this at the pre-allocation of plots in the Kronlein residential area.

A delegation from the Keetmanshoop Town Council, led by Mayor McDonald Hanse, recently visited the town of Kleinmachnow in Germany, on a drive to strengthen relations towards a formal twinning arrangement.
