The 17th Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition is taking place in Africa for the first time.

AFRICA SECURES MAJOR CLIMATE FUNDING BOOST

Africa has received a climate finance boost after the Green Climate Fund (GCF) approved US$440 million (N$7.44 billion) in new funding, representing 46% of its latest allocations. 

This brings Africa’s total share of the Fund’s global portfolio to about US$7.6 billion (N$128.43 billion).

Namibia has become the first African country to host the Wood Identification and Screening Centre (WISC). 

The forensic facility launched by the Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) Lucia Iipumbu will strengthen timber verification and law enforcement in the country.
