The mother of a former August 26 Construction contractor Maria Ipumbu has been granted bail of N$50,000 following a brief appearance at the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court.

The Katima Mulilo Police have arrested a Zambian national suspected of stealing a calf from one of the surrounding villages.

According to the Katima Mulilo Police Station Commander, Charles Mayumbelo, the suspect was intercepted by police on night patrol.

Suspended NAMDIA employee Charles Roman appeared in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court today on charges of defeating the ends of justice and contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

Roman's appearance followed his arrest in the early hours of Wednesday.

A case of gender-based violence that resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old man from Okahandja has now seen police pitted against the suspect's mother.

In Gobabis, one of the leaders of the A Right to Shelter Association has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and negligent driving. According to the police, the incident occurred when he allegedly struck an officer who was performing his duties.

Four suspected robbers were arrested earlier today in Rocky Crest, Windhoek, after a chase ended when their getaway vehicle overturned while attempting to flee from the City Police. 

Former NamCor Managing Director Immanuel Mulunga was arrested this morning, alongside three other senior officials of the state-owned petroleum company.

ACC Director General Paulus Noa confirmed the arrests and told NBC News that further arrests are expected during the week.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested in the Omusati Region after allegedly raping three minor boys.

Omusati Police Commander Ismael Basson said the three boys were collecting cattle from the grazing field when the suspect allegedly caught them one by one, undressed them, and raped them.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the Liselo checkpoint near Katima Mulilo after he was found in possession of protected game products, including lion teeth, bones and oils extracted from lion fat.
