Ohamba yOukwanyama Martha ya Nelumbu has urged the youth to prioritise education and acquire knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers.

Ya Nelumbu made an appeal at the Oukwanyama palace in Ohangwena during a visit by learners from Sakaria Shikudule Primary School and Ever Star Private School. 

Ohamba ya Nelumbu emphasised the significance of education in shaping a prosperous future, urging the youth to seize every opportunity to equip themselves with the necessary skills to thrive in a modern world.

Learners, teachers from Oshikoto Region visit State House

President Hage Geingob has encouraged school learners to take their studies seriously, true to the saying that 'education is the greatest equaliser'.

Learners and teachers from the Oshikoto Region visited State House as part of their school tour to Windhoek.

The pupils are from Tsumeb English Medium, Ontana Combined School, and Nehale Secondary School, from grades seven to twelve.

The visit to State House saw them engage the President and senior officials from the Presidency.

IPC president conducts regional visits

Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) president, Dr. Panduleni Itula, recently concluded a grassroots regional tour, where he visited nine regions and over 300 villages.

Dr. Itula's visits were aimed at engaging with rural and urban communities to acquaint himself with the living standards and livelihoods of ordinary Namibians ahead of the 2024 presidential elections.


Dr. Panduleni Itula describes the experiences of those he met during his regional visits as 'depressing'.

DRC delegates on benchmarking visit to Namibia

Delegates from the Democratic Republic of the Congo's various government road sector institutions are on a benchmarking visit to Namibia.

 

The visit, which aims at sharing technical skills on the maintenance of roads, is a partnership between Road Fund Administrators within SADC and other organisations such as the Walvis Bay Corridor Group to pass road maintenance skills to those that are linked to the transport hub concept.

 

Kavango East Bonifatius Wakudumo and other political leaders visit the bereaved family

The Governor of Kavango East Region, Bonifatius Wakudumo and other political leaders paid homage to the bereaved family at Kayova village in the Ndiyona Constituency.

Mourners flocked to the household of Godfried Shishugho Kangungu at Kayova village to console the family that has lost 15 family members within four days.
 
Kayova village is 120 kilometers from Rundu. It is a difficult time for this family and villagers, where every day, they are informed that one of their own has died. 

Kavango East police visits schools as part of Operation Genesis

Police in the Kavango East Region visited numerous schools in the region as part of Operation Genesis.

During their visit, the police educated the learners on crime prevention and the importance of self-discipline.

Kavango East Acting Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner Eino Nambahu, says the school visiting programme is part of the police's responsibility.

The Acting Regional Commander says after the campaign he wants to see crime records reduce drastically.

Opuwo Youth Choir visits nbc

The Namibian Broadcasting Cooperation has always prided itself in promoting local content.  

This time around Opuwo Youth Choir traveled all the way to the city to grace their presence in conducting and promoting choral music.

The Founder of the Opuwo youth Choir who also doubles as the conductor comes from a musical background, and that was the strong base for him to set up a choir consisting of youth from the Kunene town of Opuwo. The choir performed beautiful harmonies that one could listen to especially during the festive season.

President Geingob leaves for Eswatini on a one-day working visit as SADC Chairperson

President Geingob will travel to Eswatini tomorrow for a one-day working visit as chairperson of the SADC Organ.

Dr. Geringob is expected to hold consultations with King Mswati III about the political situation in the country.

The visit is part of the SADC Summit resolution held in the DRC in August, for the organ to work towards peace and stability in the region.

Lesotho's PM to undertake one-day official visit to Namibia

The Prime Minister of Lesotho, Samuel Matekane, is expected to arrive in Windhoek tomorrow on an official visit to Namibia.

State House says Prime Minister Matekane's visit is to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations between Namibia and Lesotho.

Matekane will have talks with President Hage Geingob, who was also a guest speaker at his inauguration last month.
