About N$120 million owed to Katima Mulilo Town Council

Residents of Katima Mulilo owe the town council about N$120 million in municipal services.

This was revealed during what was meant to be feedback to residents of Katima Mulilo, who held a demonstration demanding better services from the Katima Mulilo Town Council.

The demonstrators complained about the lack of roads in Choto, Cowboy, Makaravan East and West, Butterfly, and Mahohoma areas, and the alleged downgrading of the BOMA residential area.

They also want the Chief Executive Officer and all the councillors removed.

Swapo Party's Lister Shamalaza re-elected Katima Mulilo Mayor

Two out of seven members of the Katima Mulilo Town Council Management Committee have been sworn in after a successful election today.

Lister Shamalaza has been re-elected mayor and is being deputized by Lasken Sikosi of the Popular Democratic Movement, a position previously held by the Swapo Party's Christina Simanga.

John Ntemwa remains Chairperson of the Management Committee.
