The introduction of visas upon arrival at Walvis Bay Harbour is expected to create a stress-free experience for cruise liner tourists.

The cruise passenger liner industry previously expressed concern about the immigration process, which they described as lengthy.

Because the vessels did not often dock at the Walvis Bay harbour for a day, the lengthy process delayed tourists, who booked activities with local operators.

A member of the Erongo Tourism Forum, Kenneth Kapitako, says immigration authorities have been improving their performance in recent months.

Residents and visitors in Walvis Bay expressed discontent with a lack of entertainment, saying it is dull compared to previous years.

During interviews conducted by the nbc News crew at Independence Beach, individuals shared their sentiments about the perceived lack of vibrant activities. 

The visitors to Dune 7 say the decision by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism to charge an entrance fee is preventing people from accessing the recreational facility.

The Dune is one of the nation's tourist landmarks that usually draws hundreds of visitors with its natural height.

Between December 24 and 25, more than 300 Namibians visited the site, compared to 302 SADC visitors and 20 international visitors.
