Mines and Energy Minister Tom Alweendo confident recent oil discoveries could transform national economy

Mines and Energy Minister Tom Alweendo is confident, the recent oil discoveries off Namibia's southern coast could transform the country's economy. However, he was quick to point out that this will depend on how the country is going to manage. Last month, oil and gas giant Shell announced an oil discovery in its exploration well located in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia, while another hydrocarbon giant, Total Energies, announced a significant oil find in its well in the same basin.
