The announcement was made by the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs. Those interested must be aged between 18 to 25 years before the 31st of July 2022 and must have completed Grade 12 with 25 points, in 5 subjects with an E symbol in English, alternatively Grade 10 old curriculum with 25 points with a D symbol in English. The ministry has further announced that all qualifying applicants will be required to undergo a comprehensive medical test including HIV/AIDS and pregnancy tests. Applications close on 29 July. Shortlisted applicants will also be exposed to a physical fitness test which includes, running a 2.4KM distance in 13 minutes for male applicants and 14 minutes for female applicants. Female candidates will also be expected to do 25 situps while their male counterparts are required to do 43 or more situps. Interested Namibians must hand in their applications at their respective constituency offices with attachments of their COVID-19 vaccination card and all their academic qualifications.
