Urban and Rural Development Deputy Minister Natalia |Goagoses says the Kalkrand Village Council Chairperson Phosy Manaze informed her telephonically of the termination of the Village Council's acting CEO's contract. "She told me that they took a resolution at a council meeting, and said if the CEO refuses to leave the office she will instigate the community to close the Village Council, I had to calm her down" |Goagoses informed nbc News. The Deputy Minister says, in a dispute, the supreme law dictates that both parties be heard and given a chance to state their case. "The Acting CEO has the right to be heard, and proper channels and processes must be followed". |Goagoses says that there is a serious misunderstanding of functions and duties among the newly elected Local Authority members, she says the regressive situation at Local Authorities hinders much-needed development. "A local authority cannot properly function without an accounting officer, I will drive to Kalkrand tomorrow, and hopefully put this matter to bed after I consult with the Council" she concluded.
