Inspector General of the Namibian Police, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo has officially announced the commencement of the application process for the Namibian Police.

New intakes will be cadet constables and are required to be in possession of a Grade 11 (new curriculum) school leaving certificate with 25 points or higher.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 35 years, must not have a criminal record, must be physically healthy, and female candidates must be willing to undergo a pregnancy test.

Candidates with a 3-year tertiary qualification or higher in Criminal justice (policing), banking with specialization in money laundering, accounting and financial management, psychology, and or social work qualifications will receive priority.

Those with qualifications in computer science (cyber security), information technology, and digital forensics will also be prioritized.

Applicants with brass band experience and those with skills in different sporting codes are also encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates are urged to obtain application form No. 156042 from any Government office together with a health questionnaire and submit their application with certified copies of the required documents and CV at the nearest police station.

Applications close on 2 May 2023.
