The Deputy Kaptein of the |Hai-|Khaua clan and liberation struggle stalwart, Stephanus Goliath, has been buried at his ancestral village of Berseba in the ||Kharas Region.

Resisting the Bantu Education, the late Goliath played a critical role in the establishment of the Ecumenical Community School in his hometown, where he influenced the political thinking of students there.
Late Goliath, who became the first Governor of the ||Kharas Region after independence, was tormented with imprisonment in Gobabis and Windhoek prisons for his fight against the apartheid regime.
The departed now Gaob also served as Swapo Party's Central Committee member for two terms after independence.
