The Rundu Rural Councillor Paulus Mbangu wants the management agreements of multinational entities reviewed to make sure that ordinary Namibians benefit.

This should especially look into the mining and agriculture sectors.

The councilor says it's every citizen's responsibility to ensure that Namibia is never recolonized again, both politically and economically or otherwise.

"There must be no exploitation of resources without our participation. The 10 percent in royalties that investors are paying to the government is a joke, and that joke needs to be addressed. It needs to be increased. It is our God-given resource. Let's empower our own people."

Mbangu commended the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform for its commitment to addressing water issues in his constituency.

He however pointed out some areas needing attention.

"We call on the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform to introduce the Farmers Input Support Program to give seeds and fertilizers to subsistence farmers to increase agricultural production."

The councilor was speaking during the belated independence celebration in the Rundu Rural Constituency.
