Founding President Sam Nujoma is celebrating his 94th birthday today.

President Hage Geingob is among the first citizens to send well wishes to Nujoma, saying the nation celebrates the valiant son, whose bravery was unwavering in the pursuit of the Namibian revolution.

Nujoma was born on 12 May 1929, at Etunda Village in the Omusati Region.

Dr. Geingob, in a statement, said Founding President Nujoma played a towering role in uniting Namibians in their march for a stable and prosperous country.

He says the 12th of May offers Namibians a unique opportunity to marvel at the wonder of a true revolutionary.

Nujoma has demonstrated commendable leadership, Geingob, giving marching orders to the nation's sons and daughters - to fight for their freedom, as leader of the revolution, Father of the Namibian Nation and the Founding President of Namibia.

As the country progresses towards Vision 2030 and pays homage to Nujoma, President Geingob says Namibians should be reminded, especially in this Year of Revival, that ultimately, revolution is an act of hope.

''As you celebrate your 94th birthday, I thank you, Comrade Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, for the distinctive and steadfast leadership you provided to the Namibian people. Your sacrifices and legacy are an inspiration to Namibians. Your achievements are cherished and your elegance is mesmerisingly timeless.
