The Jiangsu Province in China continues to make significant progress in the media industry, particularly in documenting history and showcasing Chinese modernization to both residents and visitors.

Both large and small media houses in Jiangsu Province play significant roles in preserving the region's norms and values while evolving their own media platforms for future generations.

Media houses, including those in the electronic, print, and radio sectors, maintain historical artefacts dating back to the colonial era.

A group of journalists from Namibia recently had the opportunity to visit Jiangsu Province, where they explored various media houses such as Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, Suzhou Daily Press, and Xinhua Daily Media Group. They also visited several historical sites within the province.

Yang Jing, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Foreign Affairs Office, stated that such visits strengthen the relationship between the media houses of the two nations.

Through sharing developmental stories, they aim to have a positive impact on their respective populations.

Donald Kariseb, one of the representatives from the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) described the visit as an excellent learning opportunity.

"The experience there compared to Namibia is something that we can look forward to in terms of building relationships with China, and another thing is the broadcasting industry since we are all in the broadcasting industry."

Both Namibian and Chinese media houses stand to benefit from the visit, which serves additionally as a platform for strengthening the relationship between the two countries and improving their citizens' lives.
