The annual US-Africa Business Summit hopes to put a spotlight on value addition to Africa's natural resources.

The summit is expected to start on Tuesday in Botswana for four days under the theme 'Enhancing Africa's Value in Global Value Chains'.

More than a thousand U.S. and African private sector executives, international investors, senior government officials, and multilateral stakeholders are expected to converge in Gaborone for the summit.

Held under the auspices of the US Corporate Council on Africa, the platform further offers a dialogue between African Heads of State and senior US government policymakers, spanning a variety of economic sectors.

Africa's quest to add value to its natural resources and seek partnerships that are mutually beneficial is likely to dominate the sessions, with delegates from each country presenting industries that are critical to continental development.

Namibia's delegation, comprising officials from the Ministries of International Relations and Cooperation, Trade, Mines, and Agriculture, will be led by the Vice-President, Nangolo Mbumba.
