President Hage Geingob has appointed ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaack as a special adviser to the Green Hydrogen Council.

Isaack welcomed the appointment, saying, "Number one, I really thank the President for his real insight into our plight for showing commitment by appointing the chairperson of the region or the Regional Council, so that complaints that were brought to his attention that we were excluded and that we are not part of the Namibia House that we are really neglected, that really touches his heart and his understanding, and consequently he really responded to that."

Isaack said he looks forward to making his contribution to one of the country's major developmental projects.

He stated that his advisory role will mainly focus on alleviating poverty and unemployment in the region.

"From my side, I can only say that I will be committed to the task that is in front of me; I am here because of representative democracy, and I will always lift up the hopes and aspirations of our people, and for the council, they can rest assured; the chairperson, which is Obeth Kandjoze, must rest assured that I am here for serious business and I am here for commitment and to do the best I can for the people of the country, but particularly for the region."

President Hage Geingob established the inter-ministerial Green Hydrogen Council in July 2021 to oversee and coordinate the implementation of the close to N$200 billion green hydrogen development project.

The council is chaired by Obeth Kandjoze, who doubles as Director General of the National Planning Commission.
