Parents demand appointment reversal of Mina Sachs Primary School's principal

A group of parents of learners at Keetmanshoop's Mina Sachs Primary School are demanding the reversal of the appointment of the new principal. 

The disgruntled parents marched to the ||Kharas Education Directorate office to petition against what they termed 'an irregular recruitment process'. 

They maintained that the appointed principal was not recommended by the school board and that the position should be re-advertised. 

Men's Conference Commits to Root Out GBV

'Let us promote a culture of non-violence'—these were the sentiments shared by ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaac while officiating at the third National Men's Conference at Keetmanshoop.

The event was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare.

The Men's Conference themed 'Zero Male Suicide: Promoting Positive Masculinity' aims to create a safe space for men to engage on issues affecting them.

It also aims to promote positive masculinity and raise awareness to root out GBV.

Mariental Magistrate's Court grants ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Isaack bail of N$2000

The Mariental Magistrate's Court has granted ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaack bail of N$2000.

This follows his arrest on Thursday in connection with the fatal accident that claimed the life of Cornelia Veron Cloete.

Three other people were also seriously injured in the fatal accident.

Following his arrest, Isaack made a brief appearance in the Mariental Magistrate's Court on charges of reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide.

Isaack was not asked to plead, and Magistrate llge Rheent granted him bail of N$2000.
