Three schools in the Zambezi Region received a donation of administration equipment worth more than N$150,000.

Both Ngweze Primary and Ngweze Senior Secondary Schools each received a printing and photocopying machine from Risk-Based Solutions.

In addition, Ngweze Primary School will also receive four boxes of printing paper.

Speaking at the occasion on Thursday, the company founder, Dr. Silindila Mwiya, said the equipment came after the school's challenges were communicated to them.

"I have to thank honourable councillors who have that privilege to work with companies like us that we are able to listen to some of the challenges that the schools are facing, and we paid attention to that, and that's how we came up with the gesture that came to Ngweze Primary School and Ngweze Secondary School, which are these two machines and the laptops."

Ngweze Senior Secondary School Principal Gibson Nkando, while receiving the equipment, commended the donors for having recognised the difficulty schools in the region face with regards to school needs being ignored.

"We cannot be ignorant of the fact that we need these children because we need them tomorrow, and depending on how we prepare them today, that's how they will manage the affairs of this country tomorrow."

He observed that a lack of support from the region's business community has been among the contributing factors to the poor performance in the national examinations.
