The Deputy Minister of Marginalised Communities, Royal |Ui|o|oo, wants the Omaheke San Trust (OST) to be revamped and get the projects back on track.

|Ui|o|oo held a stakeholder engagement at Gobabis. The OST was established in 1996 at the request of the local San community leaders and others with the aim of improving the living standard of the San community through various projects. The Deputy Minister of Marginalised Communities says that the time has come to introduce modalities, revamp the trust, and start the craft centre. The centre is currently in a dilapidated state.

"We don't want the marginalised people to lose their property, but even for them, if something is given, you hold it tied and take care of it, but I am not saying I'm angry with them; the chiefs are here, and they are my leaders."

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation, Natalia |Goagoses, also attended the stakeholder engagement.

"Today is to look at how we are going forward to revive, restore, and bring Omaheke San Trust to its former initial glory."

!Xoo Traditional Authority Chief Hendrick Martin explained the way forward. "We want everyone to participate when we talk about the trust fund and the way forward from here. I have been to several discussions where we needed to help the San Trust. I went and observed the damage done to the building, and we have to solve the issue. If there are people with good hearts or donors, please come in and let us assist so that we can reactivate the project so that it can help our community."

The Omaheke Governor, Pijoo Nganate, urged the community to change its mindset, work hard, graduate from the category of the marginalised, and fully participate in the development agenda.
