Swapo Party Information and Mobilisation Officer for Katima Mulilo Urban District, John Ntemwa, says Swapo is regarded as the home for most Namibians, and therefore there is a need to intensify its recruitment drive.
Ntemwa was speaking during the launch of the recruitment drive ahead of the 2024 national elections.
He says the drive, which will include fundraising activities and increase the party's presence in the community, is long overdue.
Ntemwa also called on all members to rally behind the party's presidential candidate.
"Therefore, without contradiction, without fear, and without favour, I call upon all Swapo Party members, supporters, and sympathisers in Zambezi to rally behind Comrade Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as our presidential candidate for the 2024 Presidential Elections."
Ntemwa reminded party members to conduct themselves in accordance with its constitution and policies, adding that indiscipline will not be tolerated.
"Be warned that this district has elected party leadership and will no longer allow you to reign freely and confuse the masses on the ground. I urge all our members on the ground to immediately report such people to the office of the District Coordinator. There is no room for parallel party leadership in the district."
The mobilisation activities are slated to start on November 30th.
