Residents of Grunau Settlement in the ||Kharas Region now have uninterrupted access to water, thanks to the NamWater Reservoir. Before, residents had been subjected to a mandatory rationing of water for years.

Water was rationed between half past seven in the morning and nine o'clock in the morning. The water shortages at the settlement, which is home to around 900 residents, were blamed on inadequate underground water.

Residents were over the moon to have uninterrupted access to running water. The Grunua Settlement has also made progress in terms of bulk service infrastructure development.

According to the Control Administration Officer at the Grunua Settlement Office, Simasiku Muketo, 117 plots at the settlement were recently connected to the water and sewer reticulation network.

20 flush toilets were also constructed for the elderly.
