Today is World Teachers' Day, dedicated to recognising the efforts and contributions made by educators.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Prof. Peter Katjavivi, took a moment to reflect on the invaluable contributions of teachers to society in the National Assembly.

"Today is the day that we will remember when we think about our teachers, and it's just a joy to remember this day because some of us were shaped by men and women. Most of them never had degrees, but they had a passion and a commitment to empower the children that they taught. Happy Teachers Day."
