Namibia and Brazil are looking to diversify cooperation in areas such as diplomacy, justice, police, and the creative industries.
This was highlighted during the opening of the 2nd Session of the Namibia-Brazil Diplomatic Consultations.
Namibia and Brazil continue to share strong cooperation in defence and navy, as well as food security.
The two countries will also celebrate 30 years of the Naval Cooperation Agreement next year, which has seen personnel training, shipbuilding, technical support, and maintaining the security of the South Atlantic over the years.
Brazil's Secretary for Africa and the Middle East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Carlos Duarte, also announced a donation of over N$2 million by that country through the World Food Program.
The funds will help Namibia improve food security, create employment, and strengthen socio-economic development.
Ambassador Duarte highlighted potential areas of cooperation.
The Executive Director in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, Penda Naanda, expressed gratitude for Brazil's continuous humanitarian assistance.
Brazil funded the Tsumkwe and Epako Integrated Food Systems Projects.
Naanda also congratulated Brazil for the G20 Presidency position, stating that it makes a difference for Africa, which historically has been left out.
He also welcomed Brazil's sentiments on the reform of international institutions such as the UN Security Council.
Naanda further advocates for more women to be involved in military and police cooperation with Brazil.
