The Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture made the important announcement that the eagerly awaited Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) and the Advanced Subsidiary Levels (AS) examination results will be released by latest January 12, 2024.

This update comes directly from the Executive Director of the ministry, Sanet Steenkamp, who shared this information on nbc's breakfast show, Good Morning Namibia.

"There is a stream of processes and procedures that are being followed in order to keep your examination very credible as a country. We follow those stringently, so you have question papers that are set up 2/3 years before the time, and when the marking takes place, markers are trained by expert teachers, and then you have a chief examiner that pulls some of the scripts. It is a long process to see if there is consistent and quality marking."

Two experts from the University of Cambridge joined the team in Namibia to ensure that the process is finalised without hiccups.

The executive director further explained that processes are in place to engage with learners who may not be satisfied with their final grades.

"There is a specific period we will announce, and with the release of the results, we will say, Please ensure that during this period, you apply for remarking, that can be done. So your scripts are pulled, and we bring in again the markers to go over and see: Was the marking done consistently up to standard, was the marking too strict, or is there a leeway or not?"

Respective regional directorates will receive the learners' statements of results a week prior to their publication to disseminate the statements to schools.

The results will also be available online and printed in media publications.
