Touch FM commemorated World Radio Day today, paying homage to the late President Hage Geingob, a staunch advocate of press freedom.

As the nation reflects on the legacy of this visionary leader, the national broadcaster's youth radio station is at the forefront of safeguarding his enduring spirit.

The youth at the national broadcaster's radio station remembered the late president, who endured media scrutiny but did not limit the freedom of the media, proclaiming that 'no journalist will be arrested as long as he is the president".

Marycent Kashuwa, affectionately known as MC the Dragon on Touch FM, reminisces on her journey in the media, highlighting the pivotal role this platform plays in empowering not just herself but an entire generation.

Tasked with representing her peers, she underscores the profound impact of having a voice that resonates with the youth, amplifying their interests and concerns.

Director General Stanley Similo's vision of a radio station that serves as a sanctuary for youth expression finds its realization through the unwavering commitment to press freedom championed by President Geingob.

Touch FM stands as a beacon of this dedication, aligning with nbc's broader mandate of universal representation for all Namibians.

Touch FM, being a youth radio station, has amplified the nbc's mandate on universal representation for all Namibians, as nbc has 11 radio stations representing 10 official radio languages, and with Touch FM, the demographic is the youth.

In celebrating the power of radio to unite, inform, and empower, Touch FM's tribute to the late President Geingob serves as a testament to the enduring impact of press freedom and the transformative role of youth-driven narratives in shaping a free and inclusive Namibia.
