President Nangolo Mbumba says he is continuing to build on the relationships established by his predecessor, the late Dr. Hage Geingob.
Dr. Mbumba made these remarks at the Eros Airport after he returned from his official visit to South Africa.
President Nangolo Mumba's visit to South Africa forms part of his familiarisation visits to SADC countries, which are aimed at introducing himself and further strengthening ties.
"This is the same type of trip I took to Luanda, Angola, and Gaborone, Botswana, to make sure that although I am new in the job, I am in the footsteps of Dr. Hage Geingob, who created this good atmosphere that the heads of state in our neighbourhood are always in contact with one another, when there are problems and when there are just ideas to exchange what to do and what not to do."
Dr. Mbumba also had closed-door meetings with his counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa.
"The neighbourhood is very good; as I said, they are busy with their elections, but they agree to help us, to work with us, where we need to solve problems in the region."
