Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted rural-urban migration as one of Namibia's biggest challenges.

She suggested that instead of encouraging people to move from rural areas to urban centres, efforts should focus on identifying the skills needed in rural areas and equipping young people with these skills.

The Vice President emphasised the importance of transforming rural areas into production hubs, with urban areas serving as processing centers. This approach, she believes, would not only reduce the strain on urban infrastructure but also stimulate economic growth in rural communities.

Additionally, Vice President Nandi-Ndaitwah underscored the significance of sports and creative arts in addressing various social issues.

She noted that these activities are not only beneficial for mental health but also promote patriotism and can help combat social ills such as suicide, alcohol and drug abuse, violence, and poverty.

She called for greater investment in these areas to harness their potential for positive social change.
