Children's Parliament MP Jessica Rantsch tabled a motion advocating for the establishment of equipped sick bays in schools.

The motion highlights that a significant number of schools in the country lack medical aid kits and calls for the provision of sufficient medical aid kits to ensure the well-being of students.

"The urgent need for such kits is not just an oversight but a clear neglect of our children's safety; furthermore, the situation is exacerbated by the lack of medical bays in schools; these are where children can receive care when they are injured and unwell. These facilities are vital not only to treating injuries but also to managing illnesses that may arise during school hours."

Rantsch stressed that this level of neglect is worrisome, stating that not only does it compromise the immediate well-being of learners but also affects their long-term health and academic performance.

Other members supported the motion.
