The Peoples Primary School and the Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School walked away with a trophy and a medal at the University of Namibia (UNAM) and the Katutura East Constituency Choir Competition.
The competition was aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS as well as ensuring that everyone affected has access to care and support.
The eleven schools were expected to compose their own songs about HIV/AIDS awareness.
The platform gave learners the opportunity to display their talents as well as enhance their knowledge about the dangers of the virus.
"This environment is one where academic excellence goes hand in hand with the development of life skills and awareness about critical social issues. It is in this spirit that we gather today, combining the power of music and the vibrancy of our youth to amplify our message against HIV and AIDS," said Katutura East Constituency Councillor, Richard !Gaoseb.
The competition awarded prizes to primary and secondary levels.
The winner at the primary school level is Peoples Primary School.
Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School scooped a trophy and a medal in the high school category.
The event was organised under the theme "Uniting Voices Against HIV/AIDS."
