Erongo Governor Neville Andre says effective governance ensures that institutions function properly, that public officials are held accountable, and that citizens have a voice in the decision-making process. 

Andre added that effective governance fosters trust, stability, and prosperity within a society. 

"I am pleased with the overall state of affairs in regard to service delivery, from the Regional Council to some local authorities in the region, where regular meetings are held for structures such as Local Development Committees, Constituency Development Committees, as well as the Regional Development Coordinating Committees. I can confidently report that some local authorities held public meetings to give feedback on the activities of their councils and plans as well as solicit input from the communities on the planned activities. However, during the reporting period, we have also witnessed some disturbing phenomena in some local authorities in the region, where the very tenants of good governance were breached; this affected service delivery and trust from the citizens, where indicators of poor service delivery were evident."
