Six small business owners in the Zambezi Region became the latest beneficiaries of the Development Bank of Namibia's national metric and coaching programme.

The Development Bank of Namibia's coaching programme aims to empower small businesses.

The manager of the programme, Paul Egelser, explained that businesses that benefited were recommended by various institutions, such as financial literacy and commercial banks.

He urged the graduates to use the knowledge they have acquired during the six-month training to grow their businesses to the next level.

"It is important to have the technical know-how. Who of you thinks it is important to do record-keeping in a business? It is important, is it not? If you do not know about record keeping, if you do not know what you are purchasing in a business daily, what you are selling in the business daily, how do you know what is the turnover of your business? So, it is so important that you understand numbers in your business."

The graduates could not hide their joy and appreciated the knowledge they had received.

The training benefited 260 businesses throughout the country and plans to train between 200 and 300 businesses all over the country in 2025.
