The 23rd Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair, which attracted 457 exhibitors, has come to an end.

Ongwediva Town Council Chief Executive Officer Damien Egumbo attributed the success of this year's edition to the improvement the committee had made.

Positive feedback was received from the exhibitors and visitors.

"The theme for this year, bridging tradition and innovation, has given an opportunity to look at our current system and to see how best we can improve on them. So moving forward, we will be using the theme of this year to be more innovative and to see how best we can remain relevant as a vibrant creator in the country. The number of exhibitors has increased compared to last year, but I cannot say the same in terms of the number of visitors because we still need to do their final visit."

Egumbo said the Council will, in the next two years, kick off a project to install adequate ventilation to satisfy customers who have been complaining about hot conditions in the exhibition halls.

This year CCTV cameras were set up at strategic points, and plans are underway to roll out the system throughout the trade fair centre for improved safety.
