All People's Party former Vice President Erastus Shuumbwa has parted ways with the party and joined the three-month-old Action Democratic Movement.

Shuumbwa said he left APP this week.

Former parliamentarian Erastus Shuumbwa was suspended from APP early this year.

He served as APP's acting president in 2011 following the death of the party's president, Ignatius Shixwameni.

Shuumbwa now joined ADM, whose vision is to liberate Namibians from poverty and unemployment while also striving for equal wealth redistribution.

ADM is also fighting to empower Namibians to be self-reliant in food production and minimize dependency on imports.

"I will be voting and campaigning for ADM, ADM is here to complete the much longer-waited freedom, that for the last thirty-five years' people are only enjoying political freedom and we don't have economic freedom."

If elected to power, ADM plans to eradicate poverty in ten years and do away with what he terms anti-black and oppressive laws.

The party also promised to give every Namibian from 18 years old N$1,000 quarterly to improve their living conditions.

He says their duty is to implement and provide all basic needs, such as free water, to all citizens.

"We want to bring government closer to the people by providing each constituency with an office of home affairs, police stations, and other necessary government services in the country. That is why we are calling for the people to come in number and vote for ADM. It is not for us, but it is for them to decide, but you know ADM is the only party that is growing like another party currently as we speak."

Shuumbwa added that ADM will ensure accessibility of all government services around the country.
