Swapo Party's presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has promised that she will ensure that those elected into leadership positions deliver.

In no uncertain terms, Nandi-Ndaitwah also stressed that only the public can fire her, and she will call a spade a spade before it happens.

Nandi-Ndaitwah made this reassurance at the party's rally held at Oshakati.

The Oshakati stadium was painted blue, red, and green and filled with roars of excitement.

The gathering also saw those who left the party return to what they refer to as home.

In her address, the Swapo Party presidential candidate, who took to the podium amid applause, stressed effective service delivery as key to her administration.

"Those are for you who have been given this responsibility; you must be ready to perform, and the service delivery is a must. When I am elected, if I'm going to be elected, the people of Namibia will be the only ones who have the right to fire me. They will be the only ones who have the power to fire me and nobody else. But I can tell you before I'm fired, something has to happen. I cannot allow that."

Nandi-Ndaitwah, while calling on the electorates to give her and the party a resounding victory, said the government has always delivered on its promises.

"In the Oshana Region alone, the government has allocated $9 million for the equipment aid scheme. We are not going to plan. We are already doing what we have started, and so your presidential candidate, as your president you are going to elect, I can tell you I will never divert from what we have committed from what we are telling the people of Namibia."

Meanwhile, the Swapo Party produced 500 copies of its manifesto in braille, the first political party to ever have done so, to ensure that its intentions are known by all.

The manifesto in braille was received by Moses Nghipandulwa, Executive Director of the Namibian Federation of the Visually Impaired (NFVI).

The party also collected over N$800,000 during a gala dinner held in Ongwediva to boost its election drive.
