The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) met with political parties, faith-based organisations, and other stakeholders in ||Kharas Region on issues related to the electoral process.

The engagement took place at Keetmanshoop.

The engagement covered the conduct of political parties, polling and collation venues, special voting, transportation of election material, number of political agents allowed in polling venues, and issuing of duplicate voter cards.

The special voting for law enforcement officers is scheduled for the 13th of November, while applications for lost duplicate voter cards start on 18 November until 26 November at constituency offices.

ECN Returning Officers in the region called on all stakeholders to participate in all electoral processes.

The code of conduct for political parties gazetted on 5th September, which promotes conditions that are conducive to a free, fair, and credible election and a climate of tolerance, was spelt out to stakeholders.

Stakeholders also had an opportunity to raise concerns, including the turnaround time of a voter during the voting process and the recruitment of election officials.

ECN Electoral Officer for ||Kharas Jejamaije Mujoro assured stakeholders the election officials recruitment process will soon be completed.

Stakeholders were also urged to submit names of political party agents for accreditation before October 31st to avoid interference in the electoral processes.
