Padel is currently one of the fastest-growing sports globally, and it has hit Namibia like a storm.

This is currently the second set of courts to be opened in the country.

Padel, a sport that blends elements of traditional tennis and squash, is known for being notably easier to play.

It's enjoyed on a specialised enclosed court surrounded by wire mesh, using thicker rackets.

Namibia saw the first courts launched by Namspire in April, which were well-received by the public.

The sport has quickly become a popular choice for team-building events and family activities due to its inclusivity, catering to people of all ages.

Now most sports facilities are following suit.

The nbc Sport spoke with Wanderers Padel owner Mohammed Bhamjee to discuss this new initiative.

Mauriza Fredericks from Old Mutual further elaborated on why they chose to sponsor this emerging sport.

As one of the oldest sports facilities in Namibia, Wanderers has taken this initiative to expand its offerings for both members and the public.

The new courts opened today for club members and will be accessible to the public on Saturday and Sunday with free entry. It's a fantastic option for post-work workouts or family fun days.

Let's padel our way into fitness and fun.
