Miss Namibia Prisca Anyolo has departed for Mexico to represent Namibia at the Miss Universe pageant.
It was all smiles at the Hosea Kutako International Airport as the Namibian contestant prepared to board a flight to Mexico to participate in the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe pageant.
Anyolo said she is up to the challenge, adding that she is looking forward to making her country proud and bringing home the prize.
"Today is the day that I finally get to leave Namibia, and I'm off to Mexico for Miss Universe the 73rd edition. I'm super happy to be here and to represent my country on a global and international platform. I can only hope that I come back and make my country super proud."
The event, which will take place on the 16th of November in Mexico City, will see the participation of over a hundred contestants from around the globe.
Anyolo says she is looking forward to interacting with the contestants, making friends, and learning more about different cultures.
"I am looking forward to interacting with different cultures and meeting all the girls, making new friends, and most of all, making sure that I put my country on the map by promoting our socioeconomic and development processes, strategies, and developments we currently have in the country. And I do want everyone to know who Namibians are and what they are made of."
Miss Universe is an annual international major beauty pageant that is run by the Thailand- and Mexican-based Miss Universe organisation.
