Only 11 out of 21 political parties have participated in the process of validating the election material dispatched to diplomatic missions, the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) says.
The Commission revealed this as it announced the successful completion of dispatching voting materials to Namibia's 35 diplomatic missions.
The packaging and distribution were done on the 31st of October, and the consignments containing all election materials were dispatched to all missions on the 1st of November.
ECN says the process was done with the assistance of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) using diplomatic bags to ensure timely delivery.
The Commission is therefore urging all political parties contesting the 2024 national elections to take part in the ongoing packing and distribution of election materials to ensure the integrity of Namibia's democratic processes as a shared responsibility.
ECN has further assured the public that it remains committed to conducting fair and transparent elections in line with its constitutional mandate.
