The Revolutionary Union's application to the High Court to compel Beifang Mining Technology Services to honour a recognition agreement made on March 20, 2024, has been dismissed with costs.
The RU claims to represent 390 employees, believed to constitute the majority of Beifang's workforce, and requested the court to enforce the company's obligations under this agreement.
Furthermore, the union sought an interdict to prevent Beifang from allegedly pressuring union members to resign and join an alternative union.
Four months ago, Beifang Mining Technology Services officially recognised the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) as the sole bargaining agent for workers at Rössing Uranium and Swakop Uranium.
