The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is preparing a group of 959 polling officials in the Omaheke Region.
Speaking at the commencement of training for polling officials at Gobabis, ECN Regional Electoral Officer Joseph Amwaandi stressed the need to equip the officials with the necessary information, given the significance of the election process.
The elections, Amwaandi said, provide an opportunity for the commission to strengthen its public trust.
"You must embrace this knowledge, ask questions, and engage with facilitators to gain the expertise to perform your duties. I encourage you to foster this with collaboration, effective communication, and teamwork for us to build a strong, resilient, and reliable electoral framework. Remember, you're not just members of the Electoral Commission of Namibia; you are ambassadors of democracy."
There will be 137 teams and 229 polling stations in the region.
The region has 48,214 registered voters
