The Namibian Police will deploy 4,677 personnel to 121 constituencies across the country to maintain law and order during elections.
Provision was made for members of the security cluster to cast their votes on the 13th of November to fully dedicate time to their jobs.
Police officers will be deployed on routine patrols and have teams on standby for investigations in all regions.
Transportation and storage of election materials will be done with police escort and monitoring.
"The Namibian Police Force launched a National Crime Prevention Operation not only to safeguard ECN's sensitive electoral materials during the entire electoral process but also to protect the lives and properties of those within the Republic of Namibia," said Major General Elias Mutota.
Members of the public are urged to refrain from consuming alcohol before casting their votes.
No selling of alcohol will be permitted, as the 27th is declared a public holiday.
There will also be no carrying of firearms and weapons, and the public will not be allowed to wear political party attire at the polling stations.
"Members of the Namibian Police Force received extensive training and preparation to handle the security needs and challenges associated with the elections. The deployed officers are well aware of the police functions and are inducted and prepared to handle any challenges that may be encountered."
Security measures have also been put in place to prevent and contain any potential disturbance or violence before, during, and after the elections, as well as after the announcement of final results.
Members of the public are urged to report any disturbances, which will be treated with urgency.
"This election process represents a cornerstone of our democracy, and the security cluster reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety of all Namibians and visitors alike and the integrity of the electoral process."
