The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform is rolling out a Water Sector Support Programme aimed at addressing Namibia's water supply and sanitation challenges.
A six-year contract between Namibia and Germany, to be funded by KfW Development Bank, has been signed to increase access, quality, security, and sustainable water supply.
At the signing ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of NamWater, Abraham Nehemia, announced that the monitoring consultant under the Water Sector Support Program has been awarded to a joint venture between GKW Consult GmbH, a German consulting firm, and Burmeister and Partners, a local consulting engineering firm.
The Head of Cooperation at the German Embassy, Thomas Feidieker, mentioned that the German government remains committed to supporting Namibia's Water Sector Support Programme to ensure the country has an adequate and sustainable water supply for its development.
The Managing Director at Burmeister and Partners and Christian Klein, Ronald Kubos, the representative of GKW Consult GmbH, reaffirmed their commitment to providing quality service.
