NamWater has announced that dam levels have improved due to the rainfall over the past few days.

The development brings much-needed optimism as the rainy season progresses, contributing to water security.

Various dams have seen significant increases in water levels due to favourable rains coming in over the past few days.

The Swakoppoort dam is currently at 15.9% capacity, with the Von Bach dam at 10.7%.

The Friedenau Dam currently stands at 45.7% capacity, with the Goreangab Dam showing the most improvement at 89.2%.

The Hardap dam currently stands at 5.5%, the Neckartal dam at 76.8%, with the Naute and Oanub dams at about 30%.

Namwater stated that they will continue to monitor water levels and provide the public with regular updates.

The water utility company encouraged members of the public to maintain water conservation practices to ensure sustainable use of resources.
